The West Coast chapter of the International Alumni Association of CET successfully organized the Alumni-meet 2001 –first time ever in the California Bay Area .This event was highlighted by the benign presence of the current Dean of CET Dr. B.S.Patro .

The cloudy sky turned out to be a formidable challenge in the beginning, but not for long for a group fifteen highly enthusiastic CETians .As planned we assembled at the Mayuri Indian Restaurant around 12:30. Moments of nostalgia followed as we all went back to the good old days of CET filled with fun and frolics. All of us experienced the joy of meeting old and new friends from our alma mater.

We got into the restaurant around 1PM for lunch. Everyone participated in the survey for developing a CET mentoring database(groups of CETians who can help friends/juniors for career mentoring).We did some “networking and getting to know each other session” after that. The Dean addressed us with recent developments at CET and his plans for future.He underscored the brainstorming that he had in the EastCoast for enhancements in CET's action plan for future. The scrumptious lunch had some relaxing hours to follow as planned. That was the “beach boardwalk”.

As some of us had to get back to work they dispersed after lunch. Rest of us followed the scenic drive to the beach boardwalk at Santa Cruz.The virtual casino there was full of games(no scope to gamble a lot).We spent around 2 hours there walking along the beach ,playing games ,chatting about old CET days, sipping coffee .

Everyone had a blast!! People who could not make it certainly missed a great time!

Oh..did i tell you that the Dean got printed t-shirts with a nice caption on the back-side for all of us as a token of his appreciative gesture ? The caption reads PLEASED TO BE BONDED .. ....AND THE BOND IS FOREVER Long live the CET tempo!!!!!
