The sequence of events was as below:
1. Welcome:-

The meeting was convened by Mr. Binay Kumar Gupta (Batch of 2003, Electrical)
on behalf of CETB Alumni Association and the inaugural welcome address was
given by Mr.Suraj Das (Batch of 1996, MCA). The agenda was put forth and
Introduction session was initiated.

2. 'Parichay' Introduction Session:-

Each of the 10 CETians gave a brief introduction about themselves and their
experiences during their stay in CET.

3. Discussion:-

As mentioned earlier, the primary purpose of this meet was to find out ways
of supporting our college in a pragmatic way. Keeping that in mind, the
discussion was carried out with ideas pouring in from all quarters. The
enthusiasm and love for the college was infectious to say the least.”
Effective and practical"-This in deed was the theme of the day. The
following points came up in the discussion.

i.. Bank account for Chennai Chapter-

For information sharing, Binay highlighted the fact that following last
year's 1st Alumni meet here in Chennai, a Bank Account for Chennai Chapter
had been opened with Mr.Ajit Sahoo(Batch of 2000,I&E) as treasurer. Since
Ajit's moved out of Chennai, it was unanimously agreed that Mr. Naresh Satapathy
(Batch of 1996, Electrical) become the treasurer going forward. The necessary
process work in this regard will be kick started soon.

ii. Contribution to CET Library-

Based on inputs provided by Prof S.P.Mohanty, hon'ble H.O.D, MCA Department,
CET, who suggested contribution of books to CET library as an "effective and
practical" step, it was unanimously decided to take up this cause as a matter
of high priority. Funds will be collected from willing CETians in Chennai.
Books will be bought, based on the requirements of the college library, which
will be communicated to us by Sir and then we will hand them over to the
college authorities. This was decided following the suggestion of not giving
money to authorities for library purpose, which then will take indefinite
amount of time to implement.

iii. Regular supply of latest journals, magazines for the students of our
college was anotherpotential area, which could be explored in the near future.

iv. S.P.Mohanty Sir had also suggested creation of a combined forum of CET
Alumni placed all around South India to help CETians still in search of
jobs in getting placements. This could be done in coordination among
Bangalore, Chennai and other chapters of CET Alumni association. While
CETians at the meet appreciated this idea, it was suggested that more
awareness needs to be created among the faculty as well as the students
in the campus regarding CET Alumni association and all the information
available in "www.cetindia.org".

v. Funding of specific areas of development of laboratories in terms of
infrastructure and laboratory equipments was another area where progress
could be made, in co-ordination with the various heads of department.

vi. Some alumni also suggested encouraging creative, innovative projects
by final year students by giving incentives. This could be done on an Annual
basis on occasions like "Perceptions”, the technical festival of our college.

vii. Strengthening of CETB brand among corporate, industry, academia as
well as the media was another area of interest. It was earnestly felt that
dissemination of relevant information about our college, CETB could be further
enhanced by having a comprehensive CORPORATE DOSSIER.

viii. It was also felt that a common email account be created for Chennai
chapter where all present active CETians in Chennai can be enlisted. This
will help in tracking on a periodical basis.

ix. It was also agreed to have a separate dossier of company email
addresses and non-official email addresses of all active CETians in
Chennai to help disseminating information in case the given company email
address became redundant.

x. Increasing the frequency of the alumni meet to twice a year was
also suggested.

xi. It was unanimously agreed to contribute Rs 800/- per head to the
Chennai Chapter account for the library cause. Also, it was agreed that
a monthly fee of Rs. 150/- and upwards per head will be contributed to
the Chennai Alumni Fund in order to fund other initiatives mentioned
above and also sponsor future such get-togethers.

After the account control transfer to Mr. Naresh Satapathy (Batch of 1996,
Electrical) is complete, funds can be contributed in this regard. Still,
February 20, 2005 was kept as the cut-off date for this purpose of
collecting funds

xi. Finally, all felt the need to go out on an outing for a day and
chill out.
