Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has faculty specialized in the fields of Machine Design & Analysis, Production & Industrial Engineering, Machine Dynamics, Thermal Engineering, Finite Element Analysis methods, Industrial Engineering and Management, Automobile Engineering etc. The Mechanical workshop has various types of Lathes(HMT, NC and CNC), milling(HMT), drilling(BATLIBOI), shaping, grinding etc machines. The welding Shop consists of Gas welding, Arc welding and Gas-Tungsten Arc welding equipment. The Material testing Laboratory is equipped with UTM(Universal Testing Machine) INSTRON, CO & HC Gas Analyzer, Vibration Equipment, Vicker's Hardness Testing Machines etc. Hardware for the CAD/CAM lab have HP workstations, Pentium III based laser printers and other PCs. Software both for designing and programming like NISA of EMRC, ANSYS, AutoCAD R-14, C++, VB etc have been made a part of the curriculum.
