The department of Computer Science and Engineering, born in 2001, has lived upto the expectations of the Engineering fraternity by training budding technocrats into quality professionals. The department is led by its esteemed HOD, Prof.(Dr).P.K. Patra. Prof(Dr) Patra specializes in neural networks, pattern recognition, molecular computing and image processing and to his credit , he has at least 20 research papers.

Projects done by the students:

The department hes been entrusted with various projects from various sources like:

•  The MODROB project of AICTE

•  The AICTE and ISTE short term training programme in molecular computing

•  Government college teachers' training programme to name a few

To make the students industry ready, this department has conducted the in house Summer Training in .NET and J2EE, and to top it all this department also conducts the industry oriented training programme “CAMPUS CONNECT” in collaboration with Infosys Technologies. Continuing with this spirit of achievement, the students of this department have outnumbered the other departments in campus recruitments, besides the students have been involved in many research activites.
