Rules
- Before entering to the
library the register is to be signed and borrower
card shown at the counter. Private books and
personal belongings should be deposited at the
counter.
- The library premises shall
not be used for any purpose other than reading or
consulting the book and periodicals of the
library
- Silence shall be strictly
obeserved at the library
- Spitting, smoking, sleeping
inside the library and putting one's legs on the
library furniture are strictly prohibited.
- No person shall write upon
either for the purpose of correcting an error or
otherwise make any marking whatever in
publications belonging to the library, underline
words and sentences therein, dog-ear pages or
otherwise damage them.
- If any publication is lost
for disfigured error in any page and picture is
removed by a reader, he or she must replace it by
a new copy or pay the value thereof plus any fine
that may be imposed on him or her by the
authorities. If one volume of a set is damaged,
the whole set would be replaced.
- The borrowers ticket will
be valid for one academic year. The book would be
lent to a member only in exchange for one of his
tickets. The loan priviledge is U.G. students 2
books for 14 days, P.G. students 4 books for 14
days, faculties 15 books for 30 days, other staff
2 books for 14 days.
- The loss of ticket shall be
reported immediately to the librarian. A
duplicate thereof can be issued on payment of one
rupee for each ticket. The member shall remain
responsible for misuse of the lost ticket and all
books issued against the tickets lost before the
loss was reported.
- All members shall secure a
"NO DUE CERTIFICATE" from the library
after clearing all the dues and surrendering
their borrowers ticket at the time of terminating
their association with the University.
- The users of the library
shall always produce their identity cards when
demanded by the library staff at any gate or in
any part of the library.
- In case a book is not
returned in due date, an over due charge of 10
paise per day per volume will be collected.
Hostel
Rules
- Admission
- For admission to
any hostel, application shall be made
directly to the Dean, Student's Welfare
in the prescribed form within 7 days of
admission
- No candidate shall
be admitted into hostel unless he/she has
been admitted to any classes of the
University
- A boarder shall
normally be admitted only for one
semester and change of hostels and rooms
can be made after one semester subject to
good conduct and discipline. No boarder
is allowed to change his own room without
the permission of the Hostel
superintendent.
- Seat Allotment
- Seats are alloted
to boarders by the superintendent.
